Liverpool have confirmed that Joao Teixeira is set to leave Anfield after agreeing to return to his former club FC Porto.
The 23-year-old managed just seven appearances in all competitions for the Reds last season and will officially rejoin the Dragons once his current deal expires at the end of this month after rejecting the chance to extend his contract on Merseyside.
Following his arrival in 2012 from Sporting CP Teixeira was sent on loan to Championship sides Brentford and Brighton.
"Liverpool would like to wish Joao all the best for his future career with his new club," the club said in an official statement.
The Merseysiders will receive a training compensation fee set by FIFA for the attacking midfielder, which is understood to be around to be around €300,000.
