Brazilian forward Luiz Adriano has welcomed the signing of Mario Balotelli as AC Milan look towards building a strike force able to challenge for the Serie A title.
The 8m euro signing expressed his delight at the club's decision to re-sign the enigmatic forward after his disastrous spell at Liverpool, and believes Balotelli, himself and fellow new acquisition Carlos Bacca can forge a formidable attacking trident this season.
"He's very important to us," the 28-year old told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"Mario is a great player who has come here to give us an important helping hand. We need everybody in the squad and he's going to help us a lot.
"It would be a fantastic trident because Balotelli's got quality which can help us a great deal.
"There wouldn't be any problem all three of us playing together. I get on well with Carlos. Our understanding improves with each training session, and we talk a lot to each other."
Adriano and Bacca are poised to start upfront for Milan this weekend when they face Internazionale in the Milan derby, while Balotelli will be hoping to make an impact from the bench as Sinisa Mihajlovic eases the Italy international into his squad.
