Tottenham have moved a step closer to realising a long-term dream after the Haringey Council passed their plans to build a new stadium.
The council voted in favour of Spurs after a lengthy meeting on Wednesday, although the revised proposal still needs to be formally approved by London Mayor Boris Johnson.
The north London club are hoping to construct a 61,000-seater stadium next to their current White Hart Lane home, which would be ready for the 2018/19 campaign.
Their last season at the Lane is expected to be 2016/17, meaning they would have to find a temporary home for one year while their new ground is being erected.
Possible options thus far are Wembley Stadium, the Olympic Stadium and Stadium:mk.
