A lopsided La Salle win turned into a bench clearing fiasco with barely 20 seconds remaining at the Filoil Flying V Centre on Sunday night.

La Salle’s Ramil Tero and University of Santo Tomas’s Marvin Lee were caught trading blows late in the 4th quarter. Both Lee and Tero were slapped with disqualifying fouls and will serve a one-game suspension.

Green Archers head coach Aldin Ayo said he already warned the referees that an incident might happen during the very physical match but to no avail.

“I told the referees already na if you don’t control the game magsusuntukan yan kasi madaming extra motion na hindi tinatawag,” Ayo said in the media room after La Salle ended up with a 28-point win, 109-81.

“Ang sinasabi naman namin syempre ayaw nating mangyaring ganun e syempre referee yung may control nun.”

According to Ayo, he didn’t had a clear picture of what transpired after both teams’ benches were cleared but assured no bench players threw any punches during the incident.
