Manny Pacquiao has undergone his first random drugs test ahead of his fight against Floyd Mayweather, according to a report in the Philippines media.
The report on GMA News in Pacquiao's homeland claims that he underwent a random test on Saturday, just two days after the US Anti-Doping Agency confirmed that both fighters agreed to Olympic-style testing in the lead-up to the fight.
The medical technician in question made an unannounced visit to Pacquiao’s training facility in Los Angeles, and took blood and urine samples.
In accordance with the fight agreement, both Pacquiao and Mayweather must make themselves available for random tests in the lead-up and after the fight.
Among the samples that are tested for are human growth hormone (HGH), erythropoietin (EPO).
The issue of drug testing prevented a fight between the two taking place in 2010, after Mayweather accused the Filipino of using performance enhancing drugs.
Pacquiao denied the claim and sued his rival, after which they settled out of court.
