Hendrawan: Chong Wei will bounce back

Malaysian national coach Hendrawan has backed Lee Chong Wei to put in an improved showing at this week's Korean Open.

Hendrawan's words of support come after Chong Wei was beaten by arch-rival Lin Dan in the second round of the Japan Open last week.

In order to boost Chong Wei's chances of a having a strong showing at the Korean Open, the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) decided to send national coach Tey Seu Bock to help Chong Wei throughout the tournament.

"I’m positive he will perform better," Hendrawan told The Star. "He will be in the right frame of mind.

"We hope that a strong showing will help him break into the top 20 in the world and put him on the right track to qualify for next year’s Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games."

Chong Wei will first have to qualify for the main draw of the Korean Open. In order to do this, he will have to get past Heo Kwang-hee, after which he is likely to face Japan's Kenichi Tago.
