Srikanth looking forward to ‘high intensity’ league

Kidambi Srikanth revealed that he is eager to compete at the upcoming Premier Badminton League next month.

The Indian shuttler has enjoyed a good season, winning the Swiss Open and the India Open, rising to fifth in the world rankings in the process.

Srikanth believes he will benefit greatly from the team event, which involves six franchises.

The right-hander will feature for the Bengaluru Top Guns alongside Anand Pawar and Sameer Verma.

"Premier Badminton League will be a great exposure for the players and will help benefit us by making us play high intensity matches," the 22-year-old told ibnlive.com.

"I think the Men's Singles matches will be an interesting contest as with two matches, the teams will want to win both as then that will help get the edge in the Tie.

"With Sameer and Anand in our team's category, I think we have a healthy mix and between us we will be able to give a tough time to the opponents."
